I posted a video a long time ago on that showed how Pepper Popper targets work. Some commenters took me to task for showing static shooting skills. That is, standing still and shooting a bunch of targets.

I wanted to show the other side. So I taped a little practice session while I was testing out a new barrel and a new Safariland Level II retention security holster.

These are my drills that I use to maintain shooting skills for hitting targets while moving in different directions. I don't know if anyone will find it interesting. But in case you do...

  • Interesting video and nice moves. Does the ALS of Safariland lock the pistol in the trigger guard or in ejection port?

  • The ALS system uses a rotating lock block that fits down into the ejection port. It's very user-friendly and seems to be pretty secure.

  • wow, steel is not as soft as human body. Be careful of the ricochet man!

  • Be careful shooting steel at that close of range. I would hate to see your sweet moved be wasted by a ricochet.

  • Very nice! One can tell you've honed yourself, I'm impressed. I've seen similar run and shoot drills, most of which by LE guys. I have yet to see someone perform that fast and as fluid as you. I tried this with an AK at the range recently just for fun. I felt choppy in my movements though. I happen to live in the same town as MGM. Thanks for sharing, good video!

  • good tips

    thanks for sharing

  • But can he do it while on a pogo stick?

  • Great Video! Very informative. Thanks for putting this for others to watch.

  • @ShooterMikeSBG why don't you try with moving targets

  • those quick draws were bad-ass.

  • well done

  • Great shooting skills SMSBG. Do you own this shooting range. I wish I can find one where I can practice "shooting-on-the-move" skills. I enjoy your postings.
