This is a collection of 16 bugs (plus tips and secrets) in Final Fantasy Tactics and there are still others that I'm likely to find. 16, that's a lot and I'm very surprised that most of these were not found and/or fixed in the alpha or beta testing phases of the game as many of them are very basic, easy-to-fix bugs (like those of numbers 3, 4, and 15). Most bugs are class 1 (very minor) or class 3 (moderately minor), though there are plenty of 0's (harmless) and 2's (minor) with one having the potential of being class 4 (moderate). The higher the class, to up to 8, the more severe the bug is. It does seem as if there aren't any bugs above class 4 though and that's a good thing - would you want the game to be crashing on you often? It's just the low-class ones that seems to have been ignored (low-class is from 0-2).

In addition to not just showing you what the bugs are or how to reproduce them, I also narrate the video where I also tell you how to reproduce them and provide a few secrets along the way, such as that from the first bug - determining how much EXP "steal EXP" gives. Thrown in for good measure are a few tips as well, including one extremely useful one that allowed me to get through chapter 3 in the game's story in barely 90 minutes! Guests are more of a nuisance than enemies healing themselves, how extremely weak they are.

Because this video spans roughly 13 1/7 minutes, it is split into two segments. The first segment contains the first nine bugs, as follows:

1. (class 1) +23 EXP to the enemy (using steal EXP)
2. (class 3) Executing action... what action? (actions with target(s) automatically chosen)
3. (class 0) An apostrophe misplacement ("don't move" spell)
4. (class 0) Punctuation please! ("reraise" spell)
5. (class 2) Berserk + don't act = bug! (enemy "acts" when it can't)
6. (class 3 (4?)) Faulty clipping (Z buffer problems)
7. (class 1) 30 ms shadow movement offset (best seen with stealing)
8. (class 2) No MP to take, but can still take it (spell absorb on target with 0 MP)
9. (class 2) Stopped but can still move some (stop+chicken then cast frog)

  • I don't understand "bug 2." What happens? All I see is you cancelling out of an action. How is that a bug? What am I not seeing?

  • I don't recall what bug 2 is, but given your description, you're likely referring to the cancel-select bug. When a skill that automatically targets things, such as accumulate or anything in math skill, you press the button to select it and bring up the confirmation dialog. If you cancel, the source and target info stats disappear. This doesn't happen with skills where you have to manually select a target, such as "attack" or "gil taking". That's why it's a bug.

  • why bring up bugs in an already published game...its pointless go do what i did and become a game tester/developer (nintendo, microsoft, tornado studios) where ya actually get paid to do this

  • You can't do it if you don't have the stuff. I don't have any of the current generation systems so I can't test for those. My computer is not geared toward gaming (who can run today's games on a GeForce 7600 GT?). Thus, I have no way to do it.

  • #1 isn't really a bug. You notice the +23 EXP is on YOUR SIDE not where the bad guy is. If you try to hit someone the hit point damage is listed on THEIR SIDE. So, steal EXP gets you 23 EXP.

  • Try seeing what happens when you attack an enemy or heal. The reverse order is the case. This is just an inconsistency.

  • Most of the comments are from people looking for cheats or exploits. ulillillia knows what he is talking about. If you dont think these things are bugs then guess what - your understanding of what a bug truly is = wrong. ulillillia level of bug hunting goes further than to look for exploits. he is very meticulous about unearthing any fault in the game. Only a flawless game is a game with no bugs, and this is very rare.

  • his voice makes me cry......=(

  • I am around the weird part of Youtube yet again.

  • What?!!! The text for FF tactics is poorly proofread?!! I probably could have figured that out when Delita says "Nobody's wants you to be king" to Goltana, or when I am instructed to "Kill Dycedarg's older brother" (dycedarg doesn't have an older brother, it should be Kill Ramza's older brother Dycedarg). Worst though was Breath became Bracelet leaving me to wonder why dragons used fire bracelets and why "stop bracelet" caused death...

  • ...are you the Comic Book Guy?
