Love The Shirley Ellis Sound. And Yes I Love " The Name Game ". Shirley Sounds Like A Third Grade Teacher. Love It. Love "The Nitty Gritty " Too. I Just Wish The Solo At The End Could Have Been Extended A Little More . With A Longer Solo. This Could Have Got To Number One. I Know I Would Have Rushed To The Record Mart In Town To Pick This Up. And I Love The Stock Audience, Even Benny And The Jets By Elton John Is A Stock Audience But They Sound Great.

  • @MrAmerican76 ...by the time I got to the Rascal House....Sade was happening....

  • Ain't no school like Old School...

  • Get it, Shirley!!!

  • There's a lot of fake definitions going around about what the phrase nitty gritty means. One of the claims is that "nitty gritty" refers to Black slaves or the slave trade. Another claim is that nitty gritty means hair or body lice. I disagree with each of those claims. In my blog post. "Nitty gritty" I break it down that nitty gritty is HOW you move & talk & walk, & dance. It's being for real and dancing funky, Google my post pancocojams The REAL Nitty Grtty. Thanks.

  • @speechrighter Actually th one that was relreased by Gladys Knight and the Pips was recourded by the Supremes, and overdubbed by them..... I am not sure why that happened

  • fantastic - love the stereo separation - beautiful thanks!

  • Love this

  • @MrAmerican76 Think I was there back in the late 90's. I know the name had Rascal in it....great pickles on the table as you were waiting on your order if this is the same place. It was really cool and good!!!!

  • I was familiar with only Gladys Knight's great version on Motown before I heard this today. Thanks for the song and the video!

  • I love this song. It was written and recorded in 1963, and it reached #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1964. Music like this is awesome; it just makes you want to get up and dance. Nice photos!
