  • I just had to ask you what type of finish is that on your Kimber? I wasn't aware of Kimber having any polished stainless pro or ultra models and it appears that is the finish on it.

  • @milkygreat - Its is polished. Thanks to Kimbers "cheap" finish, polishing it took only a few minutes.

  • So should I take off as much metal as possible? Wouldn't an angle grinder work better than tissue or crocus whatever you called it?

  • @newcoyote

Not really the goal is remove as little as possible, but smooth things out.

  • too much precautions... just show! thanks for sharing.

  • @cxa11 I know, but I figured because of the nature of the video better to be safe than have someone sue me later. I never like mentioning to even check to clear the weapon in the tear down and cleaning videos, because I feel this should be common sense... But safety first.

  • Normally I would never comment on things like this but I have to bring up 2 things. One its Impossible to make a 1911 go burst or full from adjusting the over travel screw. IMPOSSIBLE. Second never use sand paper to do a trigger job. Use Arkansas stones to polish. Not sand paper.

  • @knguye11 Look up nutnfancys video terry gardner 1911 trigger job.It has to do with the trigger bow tabs

  • @OhioYJ I know. I was just being a smart ass. You could say "smoothing things out" or honing as shaping the metal. On the other hand, grinding/removing metal as profiling. Big difference. I was just making fun of you reiterating so many times but that is probably a good thing.

  • This video helped me a lot, if the video could have been a bit closer on the edges that needed to be trimmed it would have been even more help. One tip, if you remove the grip safety when fitting a new thumb safety you can see exactly where it makes contact with the sear and remove as needed.

  • @aqualungnumberone Then you've created a machine gun and the BATFE will kick down the door.
