Terence McKenna gives words to my thoughts.

  • The great tragedy is that this type of thinking is not more mainstream.

  • @FluidBen McKenna sadly died before his time. One thing he was not short of though was advocacy for the use of psychedelics to accelerate the evolution of consciousness. I can somewhat sympathize with that position as a form of psychotherapy, but I think it's actually communication technology that is the greatest catalyst for conscious evolution, it is a "psychedelic technology".

  • I wonder how many people in the audience, at that time, fully caught on his paradigm. It's like this was address in the 21th century.

  • @Philominx McKenna was ahead of his time, he was true visionary. I'm not saying everything he said was gold, but either way his eclectic and humorous style is sorely missed. I personally find it a shame that McKenna is pigeon-holed into the new age/2012 camp, when in fact his ramblings on language, information and artificial intelligence in particular are so prescient.

  • it seems like the meaning of life is the converge into one super intelligence individual/system

  • @Philominx Imagine you are a cell in the body of an unborn child, as the child grows you are subsumed into it's consciousness. Nature builds on complexity.

  • It's Trap or Die...! lol

  • @HoloplexProductions I'm inclined to agree. I think psilocybin, may have indeed served it's purpose. Interesting proposition regarding communication tech, especially considering several other tangential concepts. Intriguing, the singularity does indeed appear to be near.

  • @HoloplexProductions absolutely, :) msg me a link.
