Its just getting more difficult to discover great artists,Some people never look beyond Candy mind pop stations like MTV

It's much easier to find these great artists than it was in generations passed... the difference is we're now bombarded with the bad so it will always take a good filter and patience sorting through until you find greatness

While i agree with you whole heartily, i ironically got here cuz of MTV. Their on line presence with indie music is fucking amazing. I can't tell you how many bands and songs i wouldn't have otherwise heard if not for MTV. Shows like Subterranean and 120Minutes and websites like MTVu and MTVhive have showcased countless great artists. Which sucks even more since MTV took 120 minutes out of the tv lineup this year after a strong revival. The good music is there, it's just not as marketed as much.
