@mikevalesenior Yeah you look at these men and you feel that you can depend on them and that they know their jobs inside out. More pride and skill - all that was lost.

thanks for uploading, Ive had this on video for many years and watched it 1000s of times.
probably one of the best documentaries showing the human side, while theres lots of cine film about, not many show this side of it.
theres quite a few continuity errors if you look closely but that doesnt detract from a wonderful film.
thanks again, and although the comments youve put on the video are nice, theyre a bit distracting.

@Mr46238 you were lucky to have had the privelage of working the steam,my late father you may have met Albert Vale and his father Albert Vale both worked at Patricroft four bridges in Eccles my father drove the great iron horses from the fifties into the sixties mems i can smell the steam now.

yes this was taken in the days when people were proud of the job they did and yes they were good at the job because of experience not a piece of paper that says they are now good at it its ok on paper but experience is best.
