Using the Remington 870 shotgun, 12 gauge, to perform some tests involving different types of shot. The test "target" is 1/2" drywall on 2x4 studs indicative of most modern home construction. On the back is another piece of 1/2" drywall representing the interior of on adjacent room. In addition, 2 more sets of "walls" are spaced with 36" between. The point of this video has to do with the tremendous lack of respect for various shotgun loads, which could lead in my estimation to catastrophic safety lapses. If I get enough civil comments regarding further tests, I would be glad to perform them. This video was not created to prove any one wrong, but to be illustrative of the projectiles in question. Thanks for watching!!!

  • I love the 870,was the first shotgun I shot with me da when I was 10, with a pistol grip and loaded double odd buck, slug, doubleodd buck, slug etc. I still shoot it today and have no need for any other shotgun ever.

  • @3sjh3 thanks for visiting and the comment!

  • @usframe Very helpful and informative vid! I was wondering if you did a similar video using a 410 shotgun/S & W governor/taurus judge??

  • @steelcurtain41286 I'll look around and see if we have a 410 handy

  • Very interesting. I always thought that bird shot would be a relatively safe option for home defense, but perhaps not. Good video.

  • @ryangi5 thanks for checking it out

  • "Hey! Whats happening?"

  • sadly, just the cardboard stuff. Home builders here stopped building solid homes a long time ago. The house I grew up in is about 100 years old now and it had lathen plaster walls (brick foundation and exterior walls too). But that ended in the 1950s when drywall (the cardboard stuff) came about. The drywall is cheaper to use and a lot faster to install. Of course, with cardboard, if you sneeze in one room, the person in the room next you you will hear it.

  • @usframe appreciate it! Throwin a pumpkin behind the first wall like your other vid would be nice, not sure if you can find one now so maybe a cantelope lol, nevertheless great videos and i subscribed! I live in the city of pgh but love getting away to the wooded parts of our state, love your area man it's BEAUTIFUL!

  • It's the hulk!!'

  • great vid butt you need a pig carcass to simulate a intruder body then the dry wall

  • Dont you americans have any real walls in your homes? You know, like from brick or other stones? Just that cardboard-stuff?

  • Thanks for the video. A lot of people say birdshot won't do much harm after going through a wall.

"if somebody does something...to make me shoot them...I want to use the military grade 00 buck"

Why not just use a bazooka to be sure? That will do the job. Well, that would be crazy because of the collateral damage to your neighbors, right? What do you think firing a 12 gauge in the middle of a crowded neighborhood might do to your neighbors after watching this test?

If you accidentally shoot your neighbors with over-penetration you are going to prison, period.
