Many thanks to Hugh Darrington for permission to upload his film, "If I Only Had Wings", showing the inside of the Comanche after completion. The project is now called an AEROCAMPER, and has been thoroughly tested on the road and campsite, with no problems apparent. And yes, it attracts attention wherever it goes. Come on you guys out there, we need more projects like this!

  • Brilliant vid! Reminds me of my days in Germany, where I had an original Type 1 "Flatroof" Loadrunner, ex Hollander. It was scrapped, as it sould no more after - waaait for it - 2.878.216 kms! It was made in 1987, built into a Loadrunner from new, ordered by Hollander SA, who distributed Financial Times from the central in Zürich. Every day and every night, it took the route Zürich-München-Berlin-Hamburg-Frankrurt-Zürich, only to take on the same route again. 2 drivers, always en route.

  • @cxmafia Thankyou for your message, I am always thrilled to hear of the journeys made by Loadrunners when they were in action, driven "in anger". To make those journeys night after night - and survive - is an accomplishment. Well done! - Phil Collins

  • @thejoyofcx Hi Phil, I used it myself on long journeys Berlin-Hamburg and Berlin-Kassel as my employer back then was setting up new departments there. I bought it because I needed to be able to bring large quantities of goods + space to take a nap. I "only" did abt. 200.000 of its 2,8M Kms - but in 1½ years. It was well beyond salvage at the time when I gave it up. But it served with glorious honour and died fed with days. Oh, how I loved that car!

  • @cxmafia I am glad you were not one of those drivers who fell asleep at the wheel! Well done!

  • Thanks Ed, nice to hear from you!
