40 - Battle on the Big Bridge

Rank VII (ELITE MARK)
Mark: Ancient Man of Mystery
Requirements: Acquire the Site 11 key. (Clan Rank: Paragon of Justice)
Petitioner: Montblanc (Rabanastre)
Mark Location: Lhusu Mines/Tasche Span | Lhusu Mines/Site 7
Bounty: 10000 gil, Masamune

Montblanc is the petitioner once again for this hunt so just agree to the hunt while speaking with him. He will speak to you about a mystery man that has stolen a sword from a nameless swordsman
and mentions that the mystery man last attacked the person in question on bridge in the Lhusu Mines. This mark is very easy to find. Use an orange save crystal to warp to Transitway 2 of the Lhusu Mines and the mark will be on the bridge outside to the west.

Battle :

Before the fight, the player should buff the characters with protective spells; a Gate Crystal is located just before entering the bridge. When the fight begins the party should Dispel both Gilgamesh and Enkidu's positive statuses. If the party has the Nihopalaoa accessory, the player can use it to Sleep Enkidu, then Oil it and fry it with Fire spells.

Gilgamesh's positive statuses will always renew whenever he pulls out a sword, so the player can set up Gambits to dispel it. His attacks only damage one character at a time, which gives the party an advantage if they defeat Enkidu first. When Gilgamesh's HP is left around 30%, he will pull out his replica of the Tournesol, the strongest 2-hand sword in the game and the party has the opportunity to steal his first Genji set, Genji Shield and Genji Gloves; it is highly advisable to at least steal the Genji Gloves, since this accessory only works well with the Masamune.

After every cut scene during the battle, the player can steal more items from Gilgamesh. Stealing from Gilgamesh in both battles is the only way to get a complete set of Genji equipment.

Enkidu :

During battle Enkidu should be the player's first target to destroy, because of his attacks. His main attacks are Fang Attack and other wolf abilities. He usually attacks the party more if his master is being attacked. By the half way point of Gilgamesh's HP, he makes a quick speech. At this point, the party should dispose Enkidu quickly to avoid damage from its Fly, Enkidu! ability, but this happens if Enkidu is still alive at this point. After Enkidu is smashed by the party, Gilgamesh is vulnerable.
