Healthcare reform has been one of the most divisive issues in Washington. But the lack of healthcare is also the common problem, which connects millions of Americans. As poverty and unemployment increases, the problem only grows worse. Long lines at a free healthcare clinic in Los Angeles show there is a great need in the U.S.

  • this makes the usa look very backwards its not socialist to receive free health care in uk we have the nhs but we still have the choice to go private if we feel the need too

  • So glad i live in New Zealand feel sorry for all those people that need it but can't afford it.

  • Thank god for the NHS, I am a nurse in the A&E in the UK, i could never imagine turning people away who needed care due to not having the needs. Nothing gives me more pleasure then helping a person to spend more time with their family. We may have yellow teeth in the UK but by the grace of god when we fall ill we can go to a hospital & be treated with care without worrying about the cost. Perhaps the US should think less about vanity & more on looking after their people health. Very sad

  • @DJKeebler808 people who were not born in america

but reside in america, cannot contract the pernicious desease of americanism

    from people born in america.

  • @MrViTopol.......prove it?

  • @DJKeebler808 AMERICANISM IS A GENETIC DESEASE

  • @Armando7654

    3) It's not slavery if you are free to leave, there are other justifications for "robbing citizens" (:->) why are not OK with just this particular one?

    4) The US voted in favor of it (btw: Roosevelt was the chairman when it was drafted)#

    5) Thank you, same to you?

  • @Subliminalverse13....it's hard for me to debate that because I don't believe that any disease is genetic. We may be genetically pre-disposed to contract an illness but if we keep our immune system strong, we don't get sick. I'm glad he got the service he needed but I still don't think socialized medicine is the answer. Is it fair for people to expect me, in perfect health because I exercise, de-stress, and eat healthy, to pay for others who don't take care of themselves?

  • @ 3 the debate over the "general welfare " hasn't been settled so it can't be justification for robbing citizens of their own money without their consent as that would be in contradiction & violation of other amendments such as slavery. Which proves "general welfare " clause wasn't intended for creation of ur welfare programs as it would invalidate the constitution which wasn't the intent of the authors. So no free lunch for you in the constitution. 4. UN has no jurisdiction here. 5. Get a life

  • @Armando7654 1) There is no country without people, it's one of the things that define it. 2) I wasn't talking about the US in particular. 3) Non-the-less in case of the US there is a "general welfare " rule. 4) Also, here is a "right for life" according to the universal declaration of human rights. 5) There are many cases where you might be already "paying the bill for others", ie. you pay more into the state than you get out of it, accept it or leave
