Our glorious State Premier changed the law soon after people met outside of possibly the world's dirtiest coal fired power plant. Now, fines and jail time await those who dare to challenge the coal lobby in Australia. Nice.

  • Wana make a difference then do it the way every other poor bastard has too.

rather than doing stupid pointles shit like this that gets you locked up with a record and even further down the "we are serious ladder"

now everyone who has seen this protest just thinks your a bunch of moron stoners like I do!.

    IDIOTS!!!

  • We have the opportunity to show the world how to reduce emissions. The ZCA2020 plan produced by Melbourne Uni promises to reduce emissions, create tens of thousands of jobs and reduce the average Aussie electricity bill to just $8 per week. Don't believe me? watch?v=qImNRuV4G0Q

  • Ok Coal is dirty etc. but there is no other way to run a furnace!!! Or run a railway...'transition from coal'?...to what? wind-turbines? or you wanna go Nuclear? and spouting their opinion as fact? (global warming is manmade) weeping Jesus on the cross... these eco hippies are smoking too much weed (although that's not possible...to smoke too much weed...)

  • Can't comment here...

  • mikma was here

  • My experience is that these sorts of protests only really work to draw attention to a cause, to get an issue into the news. Unfortunately, the "unruly hippie" tag can sometimes do more harm than good to your cause.

The protest will not change anything by itself. To bring about change, you will usually need to go the legal route, using the existing laws of the country and even activating for changes to the law.

So it becomes political.... Which isn't nearly as much fun, unfortunately.

  • thanks for smoking that environmentally friendly cigarette

  • Who is the hottie from .36 to .53? And 1:04 to 1:06? She is sooo HOTTTT!!! Hook me up Sean!!!

  • Okay, I'm all for living smart, aka solar energy, and conservation, but can we plz have a cameraman tour the protesters homes and film the solar panels fixed to their rooves and the pedal powered battery chargers. Because one generation protests Nuclear, then another protests coal, how many days do you all go without light?

  • How many protests have you guys had so far? Do you think the gov is listening yet?

    Good luck, SOH!
