Cerwin Vega DC-1515 Excursion

I bought two Cerwin Vega speakers pulled from DC-1515 and put them into custom boxes. This video shows how they are doing :)

450 wats speaker and 390 wats active amp in each box. I't didint cost me much. I buyed speakers for cheap on internet auction and maked boxes by myslef. Whole cost of this 2 boxes were about 350 euro.

Ohm is the impedence of the coil. the lower your ohm-load the less resistance it has to power, this is why the low ohm speakers have stiff-as-hell suspension.

now the reason 4ohm is common is because the car audio market speakers for highs are generally around 22 watts rms, so they use 4ohm coil configs commonly, 8 just isnt as common, the reason you see 8 ohm in homes is because you can run more power and it sounds better.

(basically lower = more power and higher = can take more of a beating)
