LOL at the end of the video. The appeal of a flat income tax is that it simplifies how the government steals your money.

ANY tax on income is straight from the pits of Hell. Make it as low of a percentage as you feel like, but it is still evil because it is taxing income. It will still be subverted by lobbyists and the like and revised until it is no longer flat. The FairTax is the only answer to our corrupt tax code.

Probably a bad idea to schedule two guests via satellite named Ken and Kent and then try to refer to them by their first name.

@TheBrindleBoxer And clearly I should spend more time proof reading ahahah I apologize, tax is an emotional issue for me.
-
@TheBrindleBoxer compared to our ancestors. The overall goal of a flat tax rate should be increase fairness across the board and shrink to the amount of tax paid to governments. More money in the payers hand, less in the hands of those who squander and are closer to the 300,000 end of the spectrum who feel entitled to your money.
-
@TheBrindleBoxer Clearly a minimum income level would have to be implemented to help the lower income earners. If you applied a 20,000$ minimum bracket and everything above flat taxable... the lesser earner in your scenario would be paying $2,000 ( 20% of 10,000) and the top earner would be paying 60,000 ( 20% of 300,000 ). What is not fair about the? Even at the lower end of your spectrum (where I am currently at) The quality of life lived in most modern g20 countries, is dramatically enhanced

@LordShandor Actually no you are wrong. The founders/ people created the House of Burgesses. Without it's creation, there wouldn't be an America.
-
@TMBrd89 They didn't in most cases. Usually government is brought about by force of the few at the expense of the many. And regardless of how it forms, it is still a monopoly on the use of force, which is why it cannot be trusted and why it ALWAYS leads to abuse of power because it has no competition and has no reason to compel honesty or fairness. i.e. power corrupts...
The Founders forced Government upon the people, they didn't ask for it.

@TMBrd89 Max Weber, German sociologist and political economist best known for his thesis of the “Protestant ethic,” relating Protestantism to capitalism, and for his ideas on bureaucracy. Weber’s profound influence on sociological theory stems from his demand for objectivity in scholarship and from his analysis of the motives behind human action.

@LordShandor Who is weber?
If that is the case, why would pioneers and settlements form their own government voluntarily?
The reason we don't have a flat tax is because it isn't a fair tax system. The reason it isn't fair is the economic Law of Diminishing Marginal utility. Let's assume under a flat tax system, everyone pays 20% income tax. Well, paying 20% of a $30,000 a year income hurts a person a LOT more than paying 20% of a $300,000 a year income.
