July/2011. Happy Birthday to the man that started it all. Many happy returns of the day Bill Haley. "Shake Rattle and Roll", became the first international rock and roll hit in 1954 reached #7 on Billboard.

@osallent actually i know plenty of young elvis tribute artists that do the 50's such as: me(Carli Love), Kavan, Cody Slaughter, Nick Guiterrez, Alex Swindle, Drake Jennings, Victor Trevino Jr, and many many more. look up all of these guys i promise you won't be disappointed.

STAGE SHOW" featured the Dorsey Brothers {Tommy & Jimmy}, their orchestra, and guest stars. It was produced by Jackie Gleason, who used the show as a "companion" with his filmed version of "THE HONEYMOONERS" on Saturday nights during the 1955-'56 season. Because "THE PERRY COMO SHOW" was getting better ratings opposite them on NBC, Gleason tried to book a "unique" singer for "STAGE SHOW"- he found him in Elvis. When "The $99,000 Answer" aired on "THE HONEYMOONERS", this was on before it.
