I know this isn't "historically correct" but I love the thought that a real life love inspired this amazing story.

Lovely. Wonderfully woven together. You might be interested to know that there is a musical version of P&P headed for Broadway in 2010 I think that seems to have the same kind of construction, that we meet the characters as Austen creates them...

Awesome job! You did really well comparing them! And hey you never know, it could be true. No one knows for sure. The transitions were a little rough, but I like the way you showed Jane's experience, then her writing, then Pride and Prejudice. It told the story really well.
