Half-Life 2: Episode 2 Elevator Glitch

I don't know if this has happened to anybody else, but in Vortal Coil, after I put the gear in the machine to bring the elevator down, a big red "ERROR" word comes down instead. After the vortigaunt takes the extract, he goes to where the elevator is supposed to be. I follow, and the "ERROR" word takes me up but not the vortigaunt. After the load screen, I appear in the elevator. After I get out, the vortigaunt is supposed to give Alyx the extract, but he's not there, so I can't finish the game. I loaded a previous save just before I put the gear in the machine, but the "ERROR" word keeps coming down instead of the elevator.

I had to start all over and have already beat the game. However, I still experience problems with "The Orange Box," mainly with Team Fortress 2. I literally can't play the game without it freezing during the loading screen. I don't know what's going on with my Xbox 360.

Hopefully Valve fixes this, that must really suck.

It does suck, especially since I brought that gnome with me for the achievement. Now I have to start all over again. It's odd that nobody else has had this problem that I know of.

okay, (asuming it's PC) go into steam, right click on HL2, click on game properties, one of the tabs is data managment or sumthing, click verify integrity of game cache (steam cannot do anything durring this process) on X-box, install to HDD, should work, if not, you need the elevator model, find it, install, and ure good

errm, every time i try to play chapter 1, i click on play and i select chapter 1 and nothing happens, CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT PLS? thanks!
