I have to say, the community i come from, or the background i come from isn't like that. I have yet to see a ramadan table that looked like the ones that you posted on the video. I think that some people do things out of practice... there are tons and tons of muslims in the world who are so simply because their parents were, and their parents parents were, they have no connection with the meanings of the religion beyond traditions. That is why ramadan for some people is like thanks giving.

funny how the truth always turns out to be whatever your parents believe...

so to a christian parents child, the truth suddenly turns into jesus..

the obvious truth is that all religions are equally false and just humans wishing for things they can't have (i.e virgins to have sex with forever in heaven)

for most muslims ramadan is just a habit... they jst sleep, eat, cook etc.. contemplation doesn't enter into it.. alot of complaining about being hungry is there tho...

if you HAVE to give money, it is NOT charity... it is a tax. charity comes from the heart... if you HAVE to give your money, it is a tax...

My partner is Qatari national. She used to work at a blind-school and volunteer at handicap centre in Qatar. Ramadan or not, the community lacks heart-felt charity. Qatari are extremely religious community, and wealthy. The people running these schools and centres are fully corrupt and use the handicapped (children) as a means to exploit the charity funds. Those that donate don't care where the money goes. They only donate to fulfil Islamic "duty". No Heart, no Love, no God.

Only fear of Allah.

Thats the spirit of Ramadan, fast is like a shield which protects you from sins...

you get to know the feeling of how it feels when you are hungry, to know the pain of people dying because of hunger. Yes people in Saudi Arab and in many other countries spent lot of money on wasting food.Its also fact that people make fast an excuse to not work.

But if we read our Prophets life, we will find that we are not actually following him in spirit of Ramadan.
