Jazz great Oliver Nelson composed the themes for the first 3 seasons of the show, and this is my extended guitar instrumental tribute to some of that music which influenced me as a 12 year old guitarist in 1974. Obsessed with the show, and submerged in the classic funk/jazz themes of 70's TV, an era which has never been surpassed in terms of quality. I'm borrowing the bass theme, and improvising all over it. The original was mostly, as typical 70's tv music went, comprised of bass and string sections, no guitar. It deserves a rock version! This type of theme was often used during the extended bionic fight scenes, like this one from 'The Seven Million Dollar Man'. Oliver died after the second season in 1975 and the music for the show was never as good again. This music is still stuck in my head 35 years later! The show was cool not just for the slow motion leisure suits, but the MUSIC. I regularly recorded the show on my Panasonic tape deck, and would listen back to the episodes in bed, congas and bongos and amazing funk bass themes dancing through my head. It was great then, and it's still great today!

Absolutely brilliant, and a fitting tribute to the master. Major props. (Sounds a lot like the Hellecasters!)
