Old QBasic games, round two! Those are actually more recent that the ones in my previous video and are thus of higher quality.
0:00 - Two card games, known as "Mau Mau" and "Poker" (2005, text mode) - I'm actually quite fond of this. Those are my last real games written in QBasic. I programmed them on a very old (286?) laptop while being on vacation, so my only choice was to go for text mode. The game logic works quite well, but the computers can "cheat" (f.e. they know which cards you have in Mau Mau). It's still a balanced game, though.
4:38 - "SimpleKI" (2005, VGA) - This is my second attempt at creating a Command & Conquer-style game (see my previous video for the first pathetic attempt :P). It's just a simple tech demo which demonstrates how well the harvesters work, that also explains the sub-par graphics. It's actually quite some fun to watch the harvesters searching for ore which they can harvest. The computers also take care of the environment so they don't build a base if the area they are in is very rocky or if there is no ore source nearby. This might have been a very nice game, if I didn't abandon QBasic in the very same year... :)
That's it for now. I have written many more QBasic games and demos, which I might share in the future.
