  • I am currently deciding whether to buy the 335i or 335d.

The annoying thing is - the diesel is looking to be the most logical choice as its almost as fast and alot more economical. the only reason i am not 100% for the diesel is purely the sound. I love the petrol scream at high-revs and I assume side-by-side, regardless of the diesels torque - the petrol will still win a drag.

  • I know it is a difficult decision...both cars are fantastic! I took the diesel because i like the power from down (Nm) and then you can make a chip-tuning. so my car has now 349 PS and 580 Nm...and I need only 9 liter per 100Km.

But the 335i its a fantastic car. Wait to next year because the facelift with more power will come! I mean the diesel will have than original 306 PS. Thats great! Good luck for your choise!

    Greetings GD

  • OMG this is the fastest diesel i've seen, surely the fastest 335d

Who chiptuned it, and what diesel are you using? It really flies, i suppose it's even quite economical, and it's a E92 BMW *drool* Very nice car :)

  • hey buddy, is your 335d stil working fine? thinking of buying one! hi from germany and thumbs up for that murder acceleration ;)

  • @strathpol

The 335d will Definitely feels faster. The sound is different. It is not a racy sound, but a 6cilinder diesel is still music in my ears when driving home form a bussy day.

It depends from the Taxrate in your country. Sometimes a Diesel engine is 2x cheaper to drive. I think i prefere a 335d, just because the engine is very powerfull at any rpm and speed.

Believe, speed is not the problem! There will always be a faster car.

  • sorry - 0-100 in 6 seconds, 0 - 200 in 20 seconds - still amazing for a diesel

  • @zoropesa Well , diesels have been technically more advanced than petrol engines for years.

  • @derbigpr500 wow thank you for informing me......i had not known that they had improved diesels that much. I could not find a reliable graph but i looked on bmw's website and this is what i got: "Nominal output hp/rpm 265/4200" and the "Max. torque lb-ft/rpm 425/1750-2250" and yes about the smartass thing.....yeah i did not know, oh well

  • @zoropesa Yet another person trying to be a smartass, but doesnt actually know what he's talking about. Yes, I'm talking about you. Check the power and torque curves of this engine. Moderns diesels have power trough their entire RPM range. New diesels rev to or over 5000 rpm easily, and most of them reach peak power near or above 4500 rpm. Besides, this 335d is an automatic, so its shifting gears at exactly right moment and exactly right rpm to be as fast as possible.

  • yet another person revving up to the red-line in a diesel :/

  • Loud music ruins the video.

  • sweet, another car video with loud music
