Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, in a spontaneous performance after their appearance at the 2009 Lincoln Prize dinner in NYC, play one of Abraham Lincoln's favorite tunes, Listen to the Mockingbird. This event occurred in the Library of the Union League Club on April 7, 2009, and this video is posted with permission of Jay Ungar.
One of my favourite fiddlers. Along with Richard Wood from P.E.I. (Canada)

Great impromptu performance. Mr. Ungar does a superb job of mocking the mockmanbird. (Private joke) I had a mockingbird that visited the light post outside my bedroom window every night around 1 AM and would proceed to sing his entire repertoire ending with the melodious beep beep beep of the backup alarm from a trash truck. I moved back to the country. I have missed that bird more than words can tell.

If there really is a Heaven, then Abe, Alice, and Septimus must all be
listening with great enjoyment.
Thanks for the nostalgic post.
