@ScreamFlip when you put it that way, yes, there are effects, and autotune is just a single effect. but when when there is a part where the voice is really prevalent, then they use effects combined with autotune (ex. tom delonge uses alot of reverb and a bit of autotune, aaron gillespie used autotune in "they're only chasing safety", but changed to a more reverb and dampened effect for define the great line".. it's there man, along with other effect, it's there

@06livefast Okay here think about this way, if u add an effect to ur voice to sound far is that autotune? no thats an effect, if u delay ur voice, thats not autotune thats an effect, to sound "bubble or robotik persay" thats autotune, if u lower the pitches of the vocals to add more bass or treble and just edit it, is that autotune? Even though u didnt select the effect of autotune? its not, thats like saying adding an effect to ur guitar is always a degree of distortion

@06livefast so if all thats true then T pain wouldnt b famous for it or hav made a big deal out of lil wayne copying his autotune, plus theres apps for autotune, i realize there is the level of usage to where u sound more robotic but its still VERY distinct when its used like in ismfof for ex, and they dnt use it for "choruses" in recording a chorus they record it sang in a harmony, like playing over if i may, iv recorded before and know wat all this.Iv had classes on music for 7 years now:)

@ScreamFlip no, sorry autotune is the effect that everybody uses. it's to perfect the voice for album quality. sure, bands use other effects as well, but auto tune is the basis for a vocal recording. T pain and lil wayne use it at the highest level, so it sounds liek a robot, but singers may use it on a lower level for choruses to make it sound more fluent, constant, and perfect.
