This was terrific! I'd love to watch game films of all these games. Highlights don't always give the feel of the game.

Man, you guys rocked us that year. I do hate the gay ass tigers, but in my book this is the BEST rivalry in college football. Pure hatred for the other side, I love it.

M-I-Z! FUCK K U!

This game was played at Kansas Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, KS. 1969 was the final year that the stadium had a grass field. In 1970, the Jayhawks went to artificial turf, and have had several surfaces. In 2009, a FieldTurf surface will replace the AstroPlay surface that was in place on Kevisto Field (named for a prominent KU donor in 2006) since 2001.

That film is so cool. MU kicked ass even back then. And KU sucked ass even back then. I Love how dan returnded half the peace sign.

screw kay u
This is the game when Coach Fam showed Missouri coach Dan Devine a peace sign, and Devine responded with his middle finger. Typical Missouri sportsmanship.

LOL, well, actually, it was supposedly Pepper Rodgers, the ku coach at the time, who flashed the peace sign, and Dan returned half of it. Good story, but something Ol' Pepper made up. Pretty funny though! Don Fambrough was a long-time ku assistant, and became head coach in the 70s, on two different occasions, as I recall. I think Fambrough is still living. If so, he's in his 80s.

mojoMitch, That video is from the last time Mizzou won a conference title in 1969! You got any more Mizzou videos from the 60's & 70's?

I'm Mitch's Dad and I posted the video (I should get my own account). I have the 1969 highlight film on video as well as some very old footage from 1938-40 when Mitch's Grampa (my Dad) played at Mizzou. He also was an assistant coach at Mizzou from 1947-1985. Glad you enjoyed it!

is that harry caray announcing this?

Yes, indeed that was Harry! He used to do the Mizzou football play-by-play for KMOX in St. Louis, along with Jack Buck.
