Me again! Yes Kismetico it is a great vocalisation. But, better than Vic Damone??
Smile when you say that stranger,or go for your .44.

I believe that T.H.White wrote of his Arthurian epic "The Once and Future King" ..."this is not how it was, but how it should have been". Kismet is the same, Oh how I wish it was so, especially as I get older.

Yes, yu're right!. But what a beautiful music.
Yet, today, Westgerners think the world is overpopulated, and every part of it has been charted!
Brother, there are the great majority of this Planet, I wouldn't dare step foot on, even with a rifle, such as Eurasia /Central Asia. . And there are parts that were seemingly brought forwrd in evolution, but have now fallen back...like the quiet war, Civil War, in the Congo, Africa. A Tragedy.
The world is a mystery. An Illusion. A Dream

If you think Richard Kiley can sing, you should check out Gilbert Price's version of this song. It's great!!!!!!!!!!
Richard Kiley created this role and I appreciate all the comments but my 2 cents worth still puts Kiley at the top on this. Thank you all for your comments, and as a ballad singer, I still miss Vic Damone. I think he has been ignored too long.

Beaituful music.
Borodin wrote for a fantasy- w world tht never existed in the Arabia East or Persia.
Problem is, Westerners think it does.

@GeneralFuhao
I don't believe ALL Westerners think it did; maybe a handful or so know differently.

The singing did not start until 1:19 ... lol.
Beautifully crafted Broadway song that is sensual and sweet. "Songs of delight and delicious desire" .... until you get to the part where he talks about the peacocks and monkeys --- cant understand why there are animals near the bridal chamber during the night of my nights ?
Original music sheet from Dr. Alexander Borodin (1833 Russian).
THANKS FOR POSTING.

You are very welcome. Being a Broadway musical, of course there was music and dancing before the singing starts. The peacocks and monkeys are part of the exotic setting, I would guess and the lyrics work. And Richard Kiley could sing about pigs and camels and still sound wonderful to me. Thanks for the comment.
