Judy Elling, executive director of the Hopkins Minnetonka Family Resource Center, will be the keynote speaker at Adult Options in Educations GED graduation ceremony tonight.
The ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. at the Hopkins Center for the Arts.
Elling is a graduate of Adult Options In Education, earning her GED after preparing at Central Community Center in St. Louis Park. Tonights ceremony is free and open to the public.
CenterPoint Energy recently awarded the city of Hopkins a Community Partnership Grant totaling $1,400 for an automated external defibrillator for use in serving the community.
The 2009 CenterPoint Energy Community Partnership Grant program leverages local funds through grant allowance up to $2,500 to communities served by the company.
Residents thinking of running for the Hopkins School Board, take note. Hopkins Public Schools is conducting a June workshop for people interested in filing for the November 2009 school board election.
The workshop is planned for 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at the Eisenhower Community Center in Hopkins.
It will include information and presentations from Superintendent John Schultz, and board members Yvonne Selcer, Ellen Dustman and Wendy Donovan.
