"Elvis Aron Presley" 8 LP box set from 1980. (A.K.A. "The Silver Box")

Contents are as follows:

Record 1 - An Early Live Performance (taken from Elvis' appearance at the "New Frontier Hotel" in Las Vegas in 1956)

- Monolog (interview recorded in 1962)

Record 2 - An Early Benefit Performance (recorded live in Hawaii in 1961 to benefit U.S.S. Arizona Memorial)

Record 3 - Collectors' Gold From the Movie Years (alternate takes and versions of movie songs)

Record 4 - The TV Specials (selections taken from "The '68 Comeback Special", "Aloha from Hawaii", and "Elvis in Concert")

Record 5 - The Las Vegas Years (previously unissued live performances taken from Elvis' shows at the International Hotel / Las Vegas Hilton including the famous laughing version of "Are You Lonesome Tonight")

Record 6 - Lost Singles (a collection of songs released only as singles and never on any album, except "Fool" which was on the then deleted "Fool" album)

Record 7 - Elvis at the Piano (songs recorded with Elvis providing his own piano accompaniment, including "Beyond the Reef" which was previously unreleased)

- The Concert Years, Part 1 (twenty-two previously unreleased live tracks taken from various Elvis concerts in 1975 pieced together to simulate a complete live show)

Record 8 - The Concert Years - Concluded (part 2 of unreleased live concert recordings continued from Record 7, Side 2)

  • @MultiFrog1000 Well, I've seen copies of this set sell for as much as $100 in used record stores. Since you don't have the booklet, though, it might might be worth a few bucks less.

  • I bought this silver edition 8 record set back in 1980 at a record store called Peaches down here in ft. lauderdale florida and it cost me $100.00 at the time and it had a lot of great songs with studio and concert stuff to. Thanks for posting

  • Record 5; "The Las Vegas Years" was released the year later as a single LP here in Sweden with another cover photo, since the laughing version of "Are you lonesome tonight" became so incredibly popular in Sweden. I've got the Silver Box as well, but I have never noticed the autograph in the dead wax. Thanks for an interesting video.
