Here are the "Idaw" boys and the boys and girls of "Tinikling" doing what we do best!
IDAW this Bontoc dance depicts a war ceremony performed by warriors of rivaling tribes. Idaw, meaning "bird," is celebrated because it was the omen bearer of war.
TINIKLING involves two people hitting bamboo poles on the ground and against each other in coordination with one or more dancers who step over and in between the poles in a dance. It originated in Leyte among the Visayan islands in central Philippines as an imitation of the tinikling bird.
Once taught simply as a folk dance from the Philippines, it has recently become popular in the sports curricula of elementary schools as it involves skills similar to jumping rope. It's now a new, fun form of aerobic exercise that also improves spatial awareness, rhythm, foot and leg speed, agility, and coordination.
Can you see me dance?

Hahahaha!!! I thought you were one of the guys wearing the loin cloths at the beginning. Great tinikling dance, Michael! :-)
Sobrang bilis ng pag-apak apak niyo. Natatakot ako baka isa sa mga paa niyo maipit ng mga bamboo. Galeng!!!
Ikaw ba yung nakasuot ng light violet pants?
I really couldn't tell you from a distance.
Nice video. X-D X-D X-D

Rock on, Mike! Tinikling is always fun to watch, but I get nervous watching it sometimes.
I've never seen a performance like that before! That was Xtreme Tinikling! You guys were going faster than the frame rate of the camera!
Great work!
