SWISS AIR 111

A McDonnell Douglas MD-11 operating as Swissair Flight 111 experiences a fire in the cockpit due to faulty wiring. The pilots divert the aircraft to Halifax, Nova Scotia, but vital systems fail while dumping fuel in preparation for landing. The aircraft crashes into the sea off Peggy's Cove with no survivors.

  • @casual1999ghosts didnt you watch it

  • @dallyborr An Airbus and its A.I. saved all the people in the Hudson RIver incident. Only with an Airbus could someone achieve such a thing. So, Airbus ftw, fuck Boeing (inclunding failed MD).

  • @CarMoves Are you referring to the 'Hello' at the end?

  • thanx for the uppload

  • @lotsofcooki3s

Here is another Boeing or Airbus fan...knowing nothing about planes, he decided that MD11 is responsible for the accident. For him, difference between planes is like difference between two football clubs. Why? Because he is fan of Boeing or Airbus. More like Airbus, because MD is actually part of the Boeing family, but who cares...what a hell he knows about planes.

So... someone should put YOU out of business from youtube, not MD planes!

  • The reason for the crash was pretty obvious... the plane was a fucking MD a flying death trap.... No other aircraft manufacturer has had so many fatal crashes due to technical errors than MD. .. geez.. how many more events like this have to happen before someone puts MD out of business!

  • even if the aircraft had landed as soon as possible the rate that the systems failed and the fire spread meant that the crew wouldn't have been able to make it to Halifax safely

  • The crew did what the airline taught them to do they did want to try to get the plane on the ground but the checklists slowed it down it wasn't the pilot's fault. Look what happens when the pilots don't follow the checklist it's just a case of what happened on Northwest Airlines 255 an MD-82 which crashed in Detroit

  • what did that captain say after F/O asked about the level off speed at 0.06

  • I feel sorry for the families who lost their loved ones in the crash. And I can't even imagine the trauma the air traffic controller went through too, second guessing himself for a long time, wondering what more he could of done. Just tragic all the way around.
