Rygar - Ligar on European version

This is the "impossible" final fight against Ligar in the European version of Rygar.

Some backstory: Rygar was released in Europe 3 years after America. The PAL cartridge of the game was stuffed with less memory capacity than the American version. The game was still playable to the end, but the memory loss caused Rygar to only be able to get a total Tone (attack) and Last (defense) value of 1023, where in America, he could get more than 4000. Also, due to the low Last value, Rygar was only able to get a total of 8 hitpoints, where in America he could get 12.

This made the European version of the final area of the game, Ligar's Castle in the Skies of Rolsa, brutally hard as enemies could kill Rygar with only 2-3 hits. While the area was perfectly clearable with some patience and skill, players facing the final boss, Ligar, would rush headlong into a brick wall.

Ligar will kill Rygar in 3 hits without any use of healing. At the very most, Rygar can take 7 hits, with the most possible ammount of healing, but the player will need to give up the Attack & Assail ability. A total of 33 hits is required to kill Ligar when Rygar is at his most powerful level.

It took me 16 years to finish this game.

Åh herregud, äntligen satte jag det. Jag gjorde så att jag dödade sånna sköldpaddeliknande monster ute i området där jag ser allt uppifrån, höll på tills jag fick fram en sån dubbelstjärna, använde min Attack & Assail, tog stjärnan så jag åter hade 5 Mind Points. Sedan gick jag hela vägen, blåste flöjt in i sista, tog mig tillslut igenom hela sista området utan att dö nåt och utan att slå nåt. Så tillslut var jag framme i samma situation som du börjar. Äntligen lyckades jag döda Ligar. Fy tusan!

@Artictoc Alltså jag sitter här och har dött en rad gånger nu.... har gått ut å hämtat min förbannade Coat of Arms och samlat mina 7 helvetiska Mind Points, dött gång på gång..... Jag fick syn på ditt klipp å ser att vi gör på samma sätt, men du lyckas på något sätt använda dig av 2 st Attack & Assail, trots att den kostar 5 Mind Points och maximalt antal är 7. Hur går det till?

And I thought Ligar was hard the first time I beat him lol .. I had somewhere in the 2000's of Tone & Last. I don't know for sure what it was, but I had 10 hit points and you get the 11th around 3000.
