GULF OF MEXICO - Crewmembers aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Harry Claiborne, homeported in Galviston, Texas, prepare their Vessel of Opportunity Skimming System, which helps remove oil from the ocean surface. The U.S. Coast Guard is working in partnership with BP, local residents and other federal agencies to aid in preventing the spread of oil following the April 20 explosion on the mobile offshore drilling unit Deepwater Horizon. U.S. Navy video by Petty Officer 2nd Class Jonathen E. Davis.
Please watch my video concerning the oil spill- it is the solution that not only can help the oil slow down and be burned, it also can suck up the oil, cleanse the waters from all the other dispersant chemicals, and it can work on the large scale in preparation to hit the buoys and stick to them.

Will you please explain to me why we can not suck the water up and separate the water from the oil? There is equipment that pulls 5000 gallons/min of water, separates the oil and returns the water to the source. This would equal about 170k barrels of fluid to be cleaned in a 24 hour period, if they can run the equipment continuously for that long.

Have Non-BP experts been consulted on this problem? Is it really easier to salvage the money making operation rather than to just completely cap the leaks?
