@bodiloto Dessay n'a rien à dire et encore moins à chanter en italien. Elle fut la Lakmé, l'Olympia de sa génération mais ses Lucia, Violetta sont du grand n'importe quoi ! J'espèe qu'elle annulera Elvira de I PURITANI et qu'elle laissera reposer Bellini en paix !

The only thing that ticks me off about about Dessay is that whenever she does a messa di voce, it's ALWAYS from forte to a pianissimo. I just wish she would start out on a top note from pianissimo, then maybe swell, that to me sounds less jolting and strident and more finessed IMHO. Don't kill me, you Dessay fanatics!

I had the privilege to see here live at the Lyric in Chicago a few years ago in Lucia di Lammermoor. What a performance she gave, despite the fact that hers is not the type of dtramatic voice one thinks of for that role. She is a light lyric soprano.
But she blew away those critics that said she could not pull it off!! I wouldn't have missed it for the world!!!!
