@rhodog99 you're right it is called a calf crush/slicer, however all the danger in this submission is with separating the knee and has nothing to do with the calf, essentially you are just hyper extending the knee the opposite way, therefore making it a form of a knee bar...you can do the same thing with the elbow (arm bar/bicep crusher)

@sapyian thats why its good for street... because most "thugs" are amateur
-
Uhhhmm that's a calf crank...
-
Dang misleading titles...
-
@filipezin cool, i wasnt really asking it as a question but more as a statement at my dislike for there name of the move,, though its nice to know the worlds most effective martial art (in my opinion) hasnt been lost by its roots at all

@sapyian hmm not really. It's all about strategy. You pay attention, you see a breach, you use a move.
BJJ its very VEERY tiring, you must force the opponent ALL THE TIME. Even a black belt after 2 minutes gets really tired and sometimes he relax a muscle. For example, knee bar is easy to use when the opponent is not forcing his lower back. A tip : Push him forward softly and see if he shakes a little, if succeded, give a little explosion and put him aside you. Done.

@rhodog99 here in brazil all gyms teach BJJ. btw It's really common to find BJJ fighters here ..
-
it can also be down on mount by getting your hooks in and useing your leg to move his up close enough for you to grabe it i think its called russian sambo leg lock
-
ok so the move is useless as a real submission but it can be turned into a sweep if u can get under the other guys arm and turn up into side back control
Its a calf crush.... and where the hell did these people learn BJJ ? :S

Who made this guy a black belt? As a BB you would know the difference between a knee bar and a calf crush. A knee bar is a straight leg lock. This technique uses the foot to create pain on the guy's calf and sometimes hamstring. Eu acho que ele é um impostor.
