Angel Romero Playing and Conducting Vivaldi in Anchorage. He is playing a Malapanis. The power, sensitivity and depth of this guitar are incredible. Romero is an amazing performer.

I love this guy's guitars. I have played one for over 8 years and the sound is absolutely stunning. The guitar I had was a combination of a Ramirez and a Rodriguez with a beautiful spanish voice. I heard Angel's guitar and it is an amazing instrument. The projection is like that of the Australian guitars but without the "barking" and sterile tone. Cheers!

  • Amazing........simply amazing.

  • There's lots of great wood in Alaska.

  • Total control and a Gorgeous tone. If you don't think this is pretty tasty, well... Actually there aren't many concert guitarists out there who can truly project something compelling- think about that. Too academic, too preoccupied, too stiff, low energy and boring. With Angel Romero, you can tell he's really there! The real thing... Also look up Edin Karamazov and Ralph Towner, you won't be dissapointed.

  • He´s an Alaskan lutier (I think). Is that so bad? I´m from Rio (Brazil) and I know about him. Google it, if you want info, but you don´t have to think the man is nothing.

  • I remember the concert where his "wife" sang. She was a complete disaster. The woman can not sing on pitch to save her life. What was the symphony thinking? He was pretty good though.

  • Superbe! Merci! *****

  • I just read the "More info" on this video. What's a "Malapanis"??? I'm very familiar with classical guitar and with all its well known builders (Ramirez, Contreras, Hauser, Fleta, Rodriguez, Smallman, Dammann, Humphrey, etc) but I've never heard of "Malapanis". I've certainly never heard of any performing guitarist mentioning using this guitar.

  • wow i live in anchorage. i wish i had been there, although i would have exploded. My old band teacher was lead percussionist.

  • thanks so much for posting this
