@Mixxersmix Thanks, though I have a correction. I have zero resentment toward anyone (though I've certainly experienced it from others) - and never have regardless of my experiences back then. I'm unsure where that perception comes from: a point I make later in this series and made during my Unsung interview (omitted from final edit). Additionally, I've never made a dollar in royalties from sales of Shaiamar music - only Jody Watley music. I wish everyone the best as I state in Part 8.

ROTFL!!! You showed THEM just how "replaceable" you were Miss Jody!! I'm sure MILLIONS of Shalamar fans will agree that YOU most definitely had a distinctive voice and sound that was CRITICAL to the group's success. As much as I love Howard Hewitt's voice he was not the only "voice" of that group!! You boom so clearly in those background vocals that even in my second alto register I can only sing the backing of "A Night to Remember" in your soprano register because it's all I can hear!!

Jody Watley has a beautiful spirit, strong black woman! If there was one woman that I would look at as an inspiration it would be her. But I wish she would sing with the group again just for old times sake. Oh well old times are gone forever.

@jwatley1 OH HELL NO! Sistar as powerful you are and as much as I listened to shalamar ONLY BECAUSE OF YOU, it is not good that you are not getting any royalties and YOU SHOULD GET IT. I think we always take the lesser road as women and we shouldn't. When will it stop, only when women take a stand and stop with this turn the other cheek...You can wish them the best but NOT before you wish YOURSELF THE BEST..
