  • Actually, no. This was in deed one of my first questions to the manufacturer. So long as you buy your sub ammo from a reputable manufacturer, and not Joe the underground reloader, you'll be fine.

  • omg thats awesome! are there any downsides tho?

  • Yes! You need to make sure that your barrel twist will support the lighter weight bullets.

Also, remember that the sub-sonic ammo only flies at approx. 1000 fps and therefore is subjected to wind easier.

    Hope this helps.

  • PURE PORNO subsonic ftw.

  • Are you not worried about baffle strikes using subsonic ammo?

  • good to show the difference , but try shooting with subs in 308 , talk about lead baloon

  • Yes, AlexCell33 is correct - heavier bullet weight is what I meant to say. I really can't say enough about Ops. Inc's quality in this suppressor. I was going to get the AWC Thundertrap but it just didn't have the usage history the Ops. Inc. cans do with the military.

Having considered AAC, AWC, Gem-Tech and a few other not worth mentioning, the Ops. Inc. cans are very well made. The AWC is no joke either. Very well made and it too has its own history in Iraq.

  • Really the only thing is to make sure you've got a barrel twist that is better suited for heavier ammo (like the 180gr) which is what you'll get in sub-sonic ammo. I haven't found anyone making 168gr. in sub-sonic.

  • Specialty companies make sub-sonic ammo. I got mine from Engle ballistic research. It's a suppressor, not 'silencer', and you need to see your local Class III dealer for info pertaining to your state's laws . Generally, its $200 for the "tax stamp". This fee pays for your background check . Once approved, you will receive a copy of the form 4 with the "stamp" affixed on it. Then, everywhere the suppressor goes the form 4 must be with it.

  • wow....crazy...can u buy subsonic rounds anywhere? and how did you get that silencer? are those illegal? I live in the states

  • You mean heavier weight??
