using gimp or photoshop and how ot make it simple to make an image as cool as this (i am sure you can do better) things needed are tripod, dslr and gimp (which is free) editing software, oh and high fps when shooting (this was shot at 6fps)

  • is this the full version of gimp and could I do this on my Mac?

  • @soccermania008 gimp is free so yes, and yes you can use it on a mac i do.

  • whats the best and cheapest camera for this?

  • @GodsAnEmo best and cheapest, that is two different things. best is a nikon d3s, cheapest is a point and shoot that can do 4fps minimum.

  • can i do this with a video i took from my tripod if i like grab frames from it

  • @TMStopmotion if you have taken the video frames at a fast enough speed to freeze the sportsman in mid action, also the video files might be quite small, but perfectly possible

  • @TMStopmotion yes you can, i have done it multiple times, its alot easier with the video because everything is from the same jump you just have to pause the video and take a screenshot of the point you paused it at, it is also alot easier with a mac though because they have built in screenshot software and you can choose the part of it you want to take

  • @GodsAnEmo the fuji s2950. takes 20 pictures fastly

  • LOL GIMP ;o

  • @dombower *Cough* Canon 5D mark II *cough*

  • Can you then take this, save it, and then re open it in light room or whatever other processing softwares?

  • @GodsAnEmo canon 20d also gets 5-6 fps. and theyr'e cheap.

  • Thank you so much! Really helped me with my Freerunning pics!!

  • @GodsAnEmo Sony a55 will easily get the job done at 10fps full resolution shots. The a33 is a cheaper alternative that shoots at 7fps. They are both under 750 now.
