Greenpeace has foiled a controversial Japanese whaling mission in the Antarctic. The European based environmental campaigner has tracked down a Japanese fleet on the high sea and is prepared to stop them from whaling. Al Jazeera's Richard Bestic reports.

i was watching a show where American scientists wanted to do research on whales... so they used a dart gun that took a skin sample the size of a pencil eraser, and from that they knew about the whale's weight, health, age, diet, sex, growth rate, and most importantly, mercury levels! So if the japs need to kill 900 every year just to learn of diet, then how skillful are their scientists? If Minke really are "not endangered", what are they doing?... Hunting them until they make sure they ARE?

This is bogus reporting, unworthy of Al-Jazeera. How much did Greenpeace pay you. They had some success before becoming a PR outfit more committed to increasing membership and book sales than doing the hard ground work necessary to save our planet. They've had zero presence, impact on the whalers. Sea Shepherd activists have been confronting, tracking them for years, putting lives on the line every day. ALL credit for ending this slaughter belongs to them.
Shame Al-Jazeera. Tell the Truth

when the SSCS shows up the japs aren't to happy, when greenpeace is on the scene they just laugh. No donations for greenpeace, hit they where it counts.
