  • You have a very feminine voice but stubby masculine fingers. I am confused here.

  • You will scrape up the side of the knife much less if you hold it at an angle against the surface attached to whichever wheel-side you put it on.

    As you mentioned your surface needs to be non-slick, a rubber mat or mousepad would be good but remember it leaves grit and metal debris so ideally use the mat for nothing else or clean it well before a different use.

    However, these kinds of sharpeners are not good compared to a plain sharpening stone, let alone a precision angle diamond rod type.
