When i was in Moskow, what surprised me most was the beauty of the people, not only women, but the men too...when you walk the streets, you see a lot of good-looking pple, which is quite pleasant
Otherwise, its a shithole: poverty, underdevelopment, corruption (especillay policemen when they notice you are a foreigner), rampant dictature feel, racism, neonazis, etc...

Actually thats the way taxis are here - you offer the price. And in every country, in every city or town the locals take advantage of tourists. Try NYC, walk along Bronx with a camera or go inside a bar and get drunk... well, you will probably wake up somewhere among garbage, possibly half naked.
