CHDK - Video-Zooming + Refocusing using CHDK beta6 for Canon S95

Zooming is noisy, but refocusing is okay. Of course both is great to have!

Brilliant! I am waiting for my S95 to arrive from Amazon. The main thing that really put me off about this camera was the no optical zoom and AF in video mode, I almost went with other cameras because of this but the IQ of the S95 won me over in the end. This is great news. Thank you.

1. Is there a install guide for this firmware?

2. Does it damage the camera in anyway?

@TheCHDK Can you please explain how I can use the 'manual refocusing' on the video mode because I have just downloaded CHDK for my s95 and I don't know how to use it.

How did you focus when you zoomed? I downloaded CHDK and it doesn't focus while zooming

@AllClassDivers Actually you don't need to press *any* buttons, as CHDK now has a function to return the number of milliseconds the USB remote trigger was held down for. All you need to do is build a small external circuit that output different times for each button, then write a script that matches actions. ...or you could buy one of these: 'vp-systems. eu/ wireless. html' (remove spaces)

I am trying to find out how you can store the videos you've recorded, because after you've loaded the CHDK you have to keep the memorycard with the CHDK on it, in the camera....

Don't forget to allow refocus in 'alt' mode after installing CHDK.
