i dunno about you, but i saw one guy get hit like four times in the back of the head at 1:41, the guy in red and white, hitting the blue and yellow

Yeah engagement has been a recent topic at fighter practices here... we have noticed a rash of newer fighters that were unaware of the actual engagement rules in melees. I think we as SCA fighters should challenge ourselves to teach newer fighters ALL of the rules of engagement AS they are writen in the marshals handbook.. not as we feel they should be. This is not only to make better fighters, but to keep it fun and safe.

Glad to see that someone else says the Edmond had engagement on the last shot, he didn't actually hit with HAFT as I spoke to him afterwards about it, he hit him just above the green hadgrip, but it is hard to tell from this video. As for Tweedle dee and dumb, they are better than any music, it just shows people out having fun and enjoying a good fight.

I am not sure who is who in this video... cause I dont know your kingdoms... but up until a few shots at the 1:38 mark (which he appologized for), and the later shot at the 1:52 mark. Which is iffy... seeing as he had engagement with the 3 of them at first and turned away... he still was "engaged" BUT, the shot was a HAFT shot.... and a bit excessive.... it staggered him. I could have lived without tweedle dee and dumb next to the camera. I would add a music overlay to get rid of them.

Count Lutr did not approach me after the fight though he did approach Duke Lucan (who he had thought had hit him). He did not have a problem with the hit. Please don't start large inter-kingdom problems over actions which you were not a part. At least go talk to Count Lutr about it.
I had a blast in the combined champions. It seems counterproductive to throw away what we achieved there.

Look up Pennsic Belted Champions 2009. You will clearly see that I approach Count Lutr from a forward angle. Also, though it's difficult that his shield is pulled into his body just before impact. It was my intent to hit Lutr shield to shield. I even paced my approach to achieve this. I recall his vision flashing to me as I ran at him and him starting to pull back in an effort to move out of my way. If my impact ended up being to the body, it was a mistake.

Of course the level of the fighting is valueable-they are knights. The issue is a-holism on both sides, and the fact that the only way to get a common language about the purpose and vision of the battle is to throw away all pretense and seek to injure one another.

I've watched this video a few times and I see nothing wrong with it. If people want to see something disgraceful then they should look at the unbelted champions video, the Midrealm unbelts were blowing off shots the whole fight. As for the comments on this video, its just a bunch of guys enjoying the fight, that's all. Get over it. Gotta love that comment WHAA WHAA WHAA.
Who is responsible for the collorful commentary?
-Sir Vitus

Sir Vitus, I do not know who was talking, I moved over from the far side of the field and started to film the battle. I had just enough time to get set up, I did not notice who was beside me. It seems to me that the commentary is causing abit of a problem, this should not devalue the level of fighting on the field that day.

I am not upset about it, I forgot about 15 minutes after the battle. yet to be directed here and to hear the amazing commentary of who I am supposing is Lord Brien, whomever that may be just does wonders for inter-kingdom relations. Frankly I spent that last 4 years in dialogue with Cullen of VDK trying to repair the problems between mid-east unbelts. I am personally all done with dialogue. I will figure out what fight my opponent wants and I will strive to give it to him, anywhere, anytime.

Well actually it was not me providing the commentary, it was a few of the other fighters beside me. From what I saw both sides played the game really hard and within the rules. People need to remember its just a game and once you are no longer having fun in the game then you should stop because this is how people will get hurt.
