  • Good tone, good sound, and..what a nice choice of bass...Good playin also...Congratulations, I Liked it a lot keep that way(y)

  • You are hella cool because:

    1 you play bass

2 because you choose a longhorn

3 because you spend your OWN money on it (unlike: 'mom i want a new bass' 'mkay'

  • @bass0111 finally, someone who gets it. its a bass guitar, and if it has guitar in the name, I should play it however I want instead of either finger, slap, or bow. I would buzz too much when I play with my fingers, cause I just strike the strings like a piano. I use a pick, and the problem is fixed. So I play with a "plastic fingernail," so what? I like this kid's style as well, but I sugest exploring all types of music, such as metal, pop, funk, and many others.

  • you look so young, excellent first bass, hell its and excellent bass for anyone. You've got so much time to practice and get amazing. You can rule the world if you want to.

  • 3. Listen to, and learn to play, as many musical idioms as possible. People who limit themselves to one style do most of their playing in their basements.

    4. This video indicates that you're on the right track -- continue what you're doing and you'll do just fine.

  • If I may offer a couple of thoughts as someone who's played bass for a while (started in 1964) ...

    1. Use your fingers. Use your thumb. Use a pick. Use your fingernail. Disregard the moronic comments of some of the posters here and use whatever works for *you*.

    2. Learn to keep perfect time. Some will say time doesn't count, just feel -- they're wrong. Time and feel are closely intertwined and can't be separated. You'll find that out in a hurry when you hit the recording studio. >> continued
