I videotaped myself (rather poorly) using an iSight playing the baby grand at my parents' house, and then went back to my dorm to add the extra instruments to the mix using GarageBand. Of course, the arpeggiator sound near the end was made at home using a Roland XP-30 synthesizer.

I admit I hit a couple of clams in the beginning, and I rushed the middle section a tiny iota. But overall, I feel this should be interesting. The first time I get to show my face on youtube. If I'm lucky, I might get a video camera of my own.

EDIT: I finally got the names of both pieces in this segment, and the composer who wrote them. Thanks everybody!

  • Josh, you have been recognised. Richard Harvey, who composed this amazing music, is playing in Kingston on 20 July 2009, with John Williams. Please attend if you can and make yourself known to Richard. They're at the Rose Theatre, as part of an extended world tour. JW plays guitar like no-one else on earth, while RH plays recorders, mandolin, pan pipes, ocarina, percussion, flutes, psaltery and many other instruments, most of them more or less at the same time. Tickets from Rose Theatre Kingston
