My Letus35 Mini came in the mail today and I just had to use it right away :)

This is raw footage straight from the camcorder. Absolutely nothing was done to it.

I made the same mistakes with the Letus as many seem to do. First of all, most of the footage is shot with the Letus turned off. The alignment / zoom factor has to be changed (I need to zoom into the GG 'ground glass' some more in order to get rid of the vignette).

Getting all the settings right takes practice. However, I can't believe how well this worked out. I'm so proud :)

The color comes from the Cokin filter (Sepialight) and the polarizer. It was a hot and sunny day in Denmark today - June 2nd, 2008 - 30C+ (86F+).

I added some photos of the setup at the end of the clip. The rod support is from Letus as well.

Focus isn't perfect at all - that takes practice too. Maybe I need a bigger, external screen? and / or follow focus?

All in all, I'm so excited about this adaptor...

If other Letus / DOF users see something that needs attention, please let me know.

  • How do you focus so well with your canon HG10?

  • @JoshuaWGLloyd Hi. The focusing has to do with the rest of the setup - the adapter and the canon dslr lens. See the images at the end and watch this video: vimeoDOTcom /3701470

  • Great vids to me!

How's over all(rod rig adapter lens camcorder) weight? i plan to buy this letus mini with a Glidecam so i wanna know if it;s too heavy for Glidecam that i plan for

What you use on a LCD View, is that to make your view straight right? how cost is it?

    thx

  • @pompeii940 You should be able to find weight info on the letus35 DOT COM site. I used a Hoodman on my LCD to better see the image on the LCD in heavy sun. The Hoodman is very cheap.

  • @RicoBergholdtHansen i already search for it in Letus dotcom but they have only adapter weight not include rod system :(

  • @pompeii940 I have sold my system now to be able to buy my EX1R. I don't remember the exact weight but I think that my version 1 at 45cm weighted somewhere around 1-2 kilos. Remember that when using a steadicam, it is hard to focus the lenses while still keeping the steadicam stable.

  • @taneli2288 Yes, Letus35 is an adapter. Visit letus35DOTcom for more info.

  • Sorry for being stupid, but is letus35 like a adapter for camcorders so you can use canon lenses with a camcorder?
