Yet one grandfather fought in the 'Revolution' for the Virginia Regiment. Losing his wife right after the war to childbirth he left the infant daughter with his grown son and the farm, took a young Powhaton bride and went into the Ken. wilderness.of which branch I descend from. I was looking for the poem from the Fleet Mac album "Bare Tees", but I wasn't too disappointed> My Dad was in the U.S. Navy till June '41, His last ship was the West Virginia. I understand a lot of this sentiment. My father was lifelong disappointed they wouldn't let him re-enlist due to a B.C.D. he got for missing ship one time too many. I read many accounts of the Battle of Britain, especially found of Douglas Bader's story. The ship itself you show is a beautiful old gal, they don't 'em like .

Thank you...I wasn't at Dunkirk, nor were any family members. I've never been to England let alone ride a BSA M20. I do ride...daily actually here in California. But, I am glad that I stumbled onto your video on this grey day in the Sunshine State. You have put a proper smile on my face.

Nice video. As a small boy I was taken on the final voyage of the Medway Queen. Southend pier to Herne Bay and back.
And I have always wondered if we do inherit some memories.
I love this video. If you don't mind me asking, how did your father pass?

@bikenutt1000 Hi. thanks for your feedback. It's a complicated story, but I think my dad died of a heart attack, possibly brought on by TB.
