You can do the same thing when you go to sleep at night. Go to bed with the tv on and try and stay awake as much as you can. Probably until early morning. (might be better to do on the weekend in case you have work or school in the morning).
When you finally fall asleep to the tv. You will go right into "REM" (rapid eye movement) sleep which is a deep stage of sleep in which dreaming occurs.
In a lot of cases, the tv will affect your dream. You will start to dream of the ads you hear.
