Audioengine 2

Before i bought them i searched for videos a lot, so i thought adding one myself for the peeps who wanna buy one.
VERY good PC monitor, nothing to be compared with Logitech Z10 or similar speakers (logitech, creative ..). I was a bit nervous if they would convince me, because they always showed up with the ipod (i dont like the ipod) and i dont wanna buy some extra stuff which is only considered for the ipod-users, but they sound really really great. extreme clear sound quality and a very detailed stereo sound. It is worth the purchase if you have a good soundcard.
By the way, you can use the white package stuff perfectly as stands if you cut them in half !!

i can only repeat myself. the speakers are no comparison to any logitech speakers or others. they r the beginners setup for Hi-Fi with Pc. I would still buy those anytime. u cant do anything wrong with them.

depends on the size of your room. i had them playing rather in a box than a room (9qm). but they go far beyond what i expected. i never turned them up sooo loud, but when it comes to the quality of sound, you cant fail at this price range. and always consider the size of this thing.it is really high end for your pc. nothing comparable with logitech or those other platic boxes.

The "stands" that you made out of the packaging that came with the speakers... could you spray paint em black? Are they solid or will they brreake if you poke on em and stuff? Really need em like 5 cm higher up from my table when listening :V

i dont really know. actually it is just package. the surface is not that good for painting them. but it is only package so dont hestitate and give it a try. i bet it still looks better than white.

have them one year and i also listen to metal, progressive rock that kind of music. LOVE their performance on this music. bad recordings sound like shit as they should. good recordings (like opeth, porcupine tree etc.) sound amazing. guitar distortion has a lot of power, drums sound dynamic and bass line can be followed perfectly. also love realistic game sounds as swords, magic, gunshots, explosions etc. which sound totally apart from the atmospheric soundtrack. highly recommended 6* speakers!!

yeh these are completely different. dont expect their bass to kill you, as the z2300 would. z-2300 is just bass, with some kind of crappy speakers on top. audioengine is just quality, i couldnt expect more for the money they sound amazing, and after i collected some money i bought the S8 subwoofer too: perfect.

before buying audioengine 2 and his family entire of speakers....i want give reminder to all....this speaker is not for studio monitor uses for mixing and clinical sounding....not for basshead that want loud bass with boost high freq....not for people that seeking outstanding audio output with colouring frequency response....but it for audiophile who know what is true music should be sounding...

ive seen that you can connect these with special audio wires, my question is how will i connect this to my creative x-fi soundcard? and do they sound better than the standard plug n play cable that i can just put into my soundcard?
