The Islander-Flame game was airing in NY on the old WHT..an over the air subscription movie channel..they began showing Islander games in the fall of 1979...79-80 also Flames last season in Atlanta..announcer is plugging the October features on WHT..that would narrow this game down to October 16th, 1979...a 5-1 Islander win at the Coliseum..Isles look odd wearing their road blue helmets with white home unis..made me think it might be an exibition game.

Hey don't knock my old Omni ! It was very nice looking building during it's time back in the 70's . I used to go to Flames all the time and the one thing that I will always remember is that we always had big teams that could stand up to the big teams like the Flyers , Bruins , Rangers , and the Islanders when they came to play us on Omni ice . I just wish that we had more success i the first round when we were in the playoffs . That was downer , always getting swept in the first round !

I am going to guess this game took place in 1980. The Atlanta Flames and that old Omni, the "eggcrate" looking arena.

I agree and if they never went to calgary we would never have had all those great fights againest the oilers in the battle of alberta!!!
