  • Great question. The general prognosis is 6 months after diagnosis.. Of course, it depends on the stage. This dog has been treated with Dr. Clemmons protocol. Diagnosis confirmed via MRI and 4 veterinarians, including 3 different neuro specialists. There are different DNA tests - one developed by Dr. Clemmons and another DNA recommended by the OFA. The OFA test that was developed does not show great accuracy with the German Shepherd breed. Clemmons test is negative for DM.

  • Yes. This was the beginning of symptoms of the disease. Average time to euthanasia is 6 months. Currently, he's still walking on his own. There is a great forum for owners of DM dogs: jack flash's home of The degenerative myelopathy Support

  • This was filmed a year and a half ago and he is still walking? Was the DM diagnosis confirmed by the DNA test? Once symptoms begin to show, the dog usually can't walk at all on their own.

  • this dog looks pretty good
